Khor-Ping is the Deputy Director of the Business Analytics Centre and a Visiting Senior Fellow of the Business School in the Department of Analytics and Operations at the National University of Singapore. He is responsible for the MSc Business Analytics programme, a leading multidisciplinary degree jointly supported by the School of Computing, Business School, and with the collaboration from IBM Research. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee of the Temasek Polytechnic School of Business and was a Non-executive Director of Slate Alt, a deep tech crowdfunding platform.
Khor-Ping’s experience as an educator is complemented by his decades of industrial leadership experience in various capacities. He was the Director of the IBM Watson Competency Centre responsible for the implementation of AI solutions in the region and the Lab Director of IBM Cloud Lab in promoting the proof-of-concept, technical enablement and support of the cloud-based SaaS (Software as a Service application) developers. He was also a Director of the IBM University Program managing academic programmes and relationships with the tertiary institutes.
Khor Ping’s other professional leadership roles include Marketing Director of IBM Singapore, Global Leader of IBM Software Industrial Solutions, Business Unit Executive responsible for the IBM Global Microelectronics Services, and a consultant in the Manufacturing Supply-Chain Asia Pacific practice. He is also an IBM Certified Professional.
Khor-Ping’s experience includes assignments in New York as the Global Executive responsible for developing IBM services offerings and in Shanghai as the Regional Executive leading IBM Industrial Segment in Asia Pacific.
Khor-Ping is active in the professional and charity communities. He was one of the founding board members of ABLE, a non-profit charity organization for the physically challenged in Singapore. He also served as the Chairman of the Centres for the Physically Challenged and the Agape Respite.
Khor Ping was the President of the Singapore Industry Automation Association and a Director of the Institute of Industrial Engineers of Singapore. He chaired the National Automation Survey supported by Singapore’s Economic Development Board and was the IT Advisor to the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry. His current academic interests include the application of AI in Gerontology and Assistive Technology to benefit aged and physically challenged individuals.
Colin Koh is a prominent industry leader, contributing over three decades of expertise in industrial automation, Industrial IoT, Energy Management, Industry 4.0, and Industrial AI, Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity across Singapore and the broader region.
A seasoned professional, Colin has significantly impacted the landscape of automation and technology. As a co-author of three influential books on Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0, he has played a pivotal role in shaping discourse and understanding in these domains. His leadership extends to his role as a past president of AutomationSG, the preeminent Industrial Automation Association in ASEAN, highlighting his commitment to advancing industry standards.
Colin is also a founding member of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) and the AI Asia Expo, showcasing his dedication to sustainable practices and the forefront of artificial intelligence advancements.
Driven by a passion for knowledge-sharing, Colin actively imparts his insights and expertise at conferences and events, contributing to the ongoing dialogue on the latest trends and technologies shaping the future of smart manufacturing and sustainability. His influence extends online, boasting a substantial LinkedIn following of over 30,000 professionals eager to stay abreast of his valuable perspectives.
Education-wise, Colin holds a degree in Business Administration from RMIT University. MIT Sloan School of Executive Management Program. He has fortified his industry acumen through several certifications in IoT, Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Intangible Intelligence. His commitment to continuous learning and staying at the cutting edge of technology underscores his dedication to driving innovation and positive change within the industry.
